Get Ready

Well, since mid-2006 with my last post about the possibility of the Round Ireland trip that didn't happen, Nava and I seemed to have come up trumps with an unexpected bonus (like Round England's near-three weeks of sunny sunny sun).

Nava has landed himself a job in Ireland (beginning soon) for the next year or so, so that means a place to stay for a couple of days and prepare before we set off. And if we plan it right, we can use his place to stay half-way through the trip. Fantastic stuff.

So, here's hoping that I can get two consecutive weeks off work, maybe picking a Bank Holiday to save myself an annual leave day, and we can get this long-awaited trip started.

Roll on 2007.

Well, there's a slim chance that the travelling around Ireland will happen in 2006; I've got a job lined up for after Summer time with an engineering company, so that gives me from now until then to do what I like. Thing is, my travel partner, Nava, is on his final PhD year which means it's 'knuckle-down and get your arse into gear time'.

Actually, I should let him know what's happening. Anyway, more updates when I know them myself.

Welcome to Round Ireland 2006

Yes, it's a bit pre-empt but I thought that I'd get in there first, before someone took the blogspot URL.

Well, don't bother to check this blog for a while, but put it in your RSS-feed program, just in case.  I'm sure you lot will stil be using that next year - can't be yet another technology fad, can it?

If anyone stumbles across this website and has any places within (the whole of) Ireland that they think would be a nice place to visit, then post up a comment.  I'd be grateful for that - saves me the time to search it myself (and reading, possibly, misleading descriptions of places).

See you then.
